Traveling is an adventurous experience that no one can take away from you. So how can we get the most out of our travels and spend less while were doing it? Here are some the tips that I have personally tried, tested and loved. These tips help you do more of what you love without completely breaking the bank.

Two locations, one trip.

This is easier in some countries over others obviously. Most people will never go to just one place in Europe, we fit in as much as we can. All the nearby countries are fairly cheap to get to and extremely accessible. There are multiple trains, flights and bus routes right at your fingertips so take full advantage. This can also be done other countries, taking a road trip to Las Vegas from LA was a personal favorite of mine. Not only did we get to see more by taking the drive, we also had some great bonding moments! Pack in as much as you can while your there, it makes the adventure that much more exciting.

Use Airbnb.

Airbnb was how I spent most of my European trip. I’ll admit, some of the places could be hit and miss, but if you do your research, read reviews and the place still looks like the right fit for you- then go for it! Airbnb saved me loads of money and allowed me to stay in central locations. It was actually a fun way to do it too because you can live like a local as opposed to staying in a stale hotel room. I have converted so many people onto Airbnb and when I hear great feedback from them I always feel a little proud that I got them onto it!

Be Smart with Your Mobile.

From bitter experience I have to say- Never roam on your normal mobile without some sort of roaming or data set up (unless of course, it’s an emergency!) Safety is more important than a high mobile bill… But for the most part, it pays, literally, to be prepared. If I’m roaming somewhere close (such as Australia)- I use my normal roaming package on my sim. If I’m somewhere a little further however, I would buy a sim overseas and make the most of that. Luckily- it’s 2017 and most hostels/air bnb’s and cafes would have a free wifi service for you to take full advantage of.

Go during the off-season.

Not only will this save you a fortune on your flights and accommodation- it’s also so much quieter in the touristy areas. Most places have so much to discover beyond what you can do in their peak seasons so going during the quieter periods can help you to really discover a new town. Jump the queue and pay half the price- win win!

A little preparation can do wonders for your trip. Look for deals online and keep your eyes open for sales and tickets etc. Buying online before you get to your destination can really help cut costs. You would be amazed at how much you can save with a little preparation. Do your research. There are so many deals waiting for you and if you land on the right website on the right day- you can grab yourself some great bargains!

Now go live your adventure!
